From broken hummingbird feeder to.... 👀

Remember a few days ago when I yelled a string of words my neighbors definitely heard, all because I broke my favorite hummingbird feeder?

Well, the pile of copper, brass, and glass is officially shrinking, which means I’m either successfully building a masterpiece... or I’m just really good at making smaller pieces. Let's go with the masterpiece. 🤫

When tragedy struck the feeder, I had a flash of inspiration to turn it into something that makes me smile instead of swear. With most of the pieces finally cut, it's starting to take shape.

Inspiration hits at the weirdest times.

I was outside doing some yard maintenance (okay, mostly wrestling with the blower and losing), and I ended up breaking one of my favorite hummingbird feeders.

"F #$K!!!!" echoed through the neighborhood...

But, then it hit me...💡

They grow up so fast. 🥹 After a final custom strap fitting, the "Passe Partout" bag has officially flown the coop and arrived at her new home.

Let’s be honest—how many people get to say they went to a custom strap fitting for their handbag? 💅 This strap was tailored specifically to its human, designed to sit exactly where she prefers. Pure, bespoke luxury.

She left the atelier packing some serious heat: SB Foot leather, saddle-stitched bound edges, side piping, and a custom interior divider to keep her life together (even if the rest of us can't).

She’s the perfect "Go Everywhere" companion.

Y'all have officially got me to 3rd place, and I am absolutely blown away!!! 🥹 Today we have a massive opportunity to climb even higher. Group finals are just around the corner, and we need to make every single second count. (Only #1 from each group will move on to FINALS to two weeks)

Meet our newest collection of handcrafted copper cuffs, featuring a fun little atelier experiment. 🧪🔨 I recently came across a technique using rubber stamps and solder and thought, "Neat idea, I’ve got everything I need right here—let’s give it a go." The result? Well, it’s just like most things I do at the workbench: it produced completely unpredictable, yet absolutely beautiful and interesting results. 🪙💥

There is something so magical about letting the fire and materials take the lead. 🔥🎨

It’s a stormy day here in South Louisiana. 🌧️ While the earth definitely needed the rain, the dreary skies had me feeling a little bit the same.

Luckily, there was a brief break and I got to take a morning walk through the garden. It was just the pick-me-up I needed. Even on a gloomy day, seeing everything in full, vibrant bloom is a beautiful reminder. Nature has a way of painting its own masterpiece, and stepping outside to witness it always sparks fresh inspiration for the atelier. 🌸✨

Y'all did it AGAIN!!! I am officially moving on to Round 3! 🥳 🍾

I am completely in awe of the incredible support I’ve received on this journey. To say this feels like a marathon is an understatement, but knowing I have you all in my corner makes every step worth it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart—you are the ones making this possible!

Now, it’s time to stay focused because we are officially in the Top 10! 🤸‍♀️ ✨ The competition is heating up, and we have one week to keep pushing forward.

Here is what the schedule looks like as we race toward the finish line:

Copper makes me act different.⚡️

If you know me, you know that I am not loud, flashy, or one to take over a room, but ever since I discovered my passion in copper, something flipped — watch out world 'Little Quefla' is showing up!🔨✨

Not only has this recluse entered a National Competition, I have just submitted my first two pieces into the 'Art in Bloom' Exhibit at the Lafayette Art Association & Gallery.

🎨🌸Show opens Wednesday, May 20th, and runs until Saturday, June 20th.🗓️
