Southern Indiana Writers

Southern Indiana Writers It takes all kinds. An ecclectic group of eccentric writers of fiction, non-fiction and poetry.

Our group meets regularly to promote and encourage an interest in writing. We each read out loud our current works-in-progress, and members of the group offer critiques, suggestions, and other related comments. Individually, and as a group, we attend writing workshops, conventions, book signings in book stores and libraries, and local (and not so local) art and craft fairs. We offer public workshops on the Care and Feeding of a Critique Group, among other subjects.

After the burial, the dog's rival, a big, yellow tomcat, sparks a fierce and ultimately surprising react...

NEW! Our latest anthology, Herding Cats and other Alien Creatures! Available now.

There is magic in these nine stories, two poems, and single work of creative nonfiction. Among its wild array of visions are a band of ruffians waylaying “Living Books” on a strangely Earth-like planet; a cat-like alien astronaut whose ship lands at the bottom of an English garden; ...

New from our own Joanna Foreman!

Julia Madison Tyler throws lavish parties in her bathroom. Indeed, with a grand bathing lounge like hers, it would be a crime not to exploit it. But at one particular party a real crime is set in motion. Julia is romanced by a man intent on making her an accessory to kidnapping. Her desperation i...
