*CALLING ALL MUSICIANS*
My kids have a friend that stayed with us this weekend. Within 20 minutes of entering the house he said "this is the best day of my life"; he said this because he had access to a piano, guitar, drums, and a recorder (gah!) for the entire weekend. This little dude played everything....all weekend. It was a good thing that he had an ear or this would have been painful experience. By Sunday, and between me and a neighbor, we had collected a 3/4 Fender, a nice keyboard, stands, picks, and a gig bag to send him home with.
By Monday, I contacted one of JT Moore's teachers about music resources for kids in need. Turns out that he collects instruments to distribute to certain students. If, within 3 months, they are no longer interested in the instrument, they return it, AND he has storage space! This is the same teacher that gave my kid a near-complete drum kit last year so, I want to play it forward and to do what I can to help!
Where you come in:
If you have any equipment/instruments you'd like to donate please let me know and I'll make arrangements to pick up (in Nashville); I'll even write a receipt so you can write it off. OR, if you have time to donate for a few lessons, let me know. If you know of other resources for kids, holler. Accessories are great too: picks, drum sticks, a random stand, a bag, whatever....It doesn't matter how used, what matters is that we get it in the hands of a kid who will think it's the best day of his/her life!
