It’s been a little while, so let me introduce myself to all of my new and old friends ☀️
I’m Gina, the maker and owner of Jewel Hippie ✌️
I’ve always been a creative and crafty girly. When I was little, I would doodle and draw, and even learned to sew (guess who sewed her Junior Year prom dress? 💅🏻). As I got into high school , I absolutely loved drawing and painting, and went on to college to get my BFA in Studio Art Education 🎨
In 2020, I dabbled with jewelry making to design my wedding earrings and fell in love with jewelry design. I opened Jewel Hippie in 2021 just as a little place to sell the things I would make here and there. I never could have dreamed it would eventually become a full-time gig for me.
After teaching in public schools for five years, I felt like I needed a change. I wanted to see what I was capable of and really explore owning a business. So, in 2023 I took the ultimate leap of faith and quit teaching to run Jewel Hippie full time. It was the scariest thing I’ve ever done, but also the most amazing thing I’ve ever done.
I’ve learned so much about myself through the past three years of being a full-time small business owner and artist. So many highs and lows that come along with the journey. It’s definitely not for the faint of heart, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. 💛
I’ve met so many wonderful friends, business owners, and of course, my amazing customers! It wouldn’t be possible without you guys, so a HUGE THANK YOU to all of you! ☀️💕☀️💕☀️💕☀️💕☀️💕
I’m excited to share more this year with you guys! Definitely expect more online drops, art workshops (I can’t just let my degree sit around and collect dust), and behind-the-scenes videos 💛
let me know what you’re most excited to see from me in the comments! 👇🩷
