A simple desk that serves its purpose well. I originally ripped a Choke Cherry round in half for the legs, but I recently decided I wanted those pieces back. So I rebuilt it with some pieces that I got from a local carpenter giving away what I suppose he thought was worthless, Maple, Oak, or Alder. .. maybe? I'm 19% sure at least 1 of those woods are part of it now and 90% sure there's at least two different types of wood there still. Can't beat the price though!

Perfect. This English Walnut slab is shaped like a pear with a branch that couldn't make a better stem. It's going to make a beautiful sliced fruit serving board. I'll try to keep posting updates on this one when I reach each step.

Made from Rocky Mountain Juniper and polished to a very fine grit, this size 8 ring looks like it's made of solid agate. The naturally reflective grain of the wood gives it a transparent-looking, marble-like surface; to the naked eye, it might as well be glass.

I found something unexpected in a wood pile last week, I almost cut it up for firewood. Rocky Mountain Juniper, it's Cedar that isn't Cedar, it's not the same tree that you get fencing at Home Depot from. It's a "soft hardwood". And it smells like Cedar, but more aromatic, the color and grain... see for yourself!
