A different side of the Outer Banks 🌊

The soundside doesn’t always get the spotlight, but it’s hard to beat the calm water, warm shallows, and quiet views. Easy to forget how much there is to explore beyond the ocean.

While Cape Hatteras National Seashore protects over 70 miles of the Atlantic oceanfront beach, it also preserves over 200 miles of soundside beaches ready to be explored. Usually calmer and warmer, the sound offers a different perspective of the coastal environment.
