What a lovely day!
Friday was the COMPAS Annual Teaching Artists Meeting. I always look forward to reconnecting with TAs on the roster as well as meeting new TAs during our meetings and trainings, but this day was extra special for me:
I received the Teaching Artist of the Year Award!!

Thank you to the COMPAS Staff and Board for creating a path for me to share my love of jewelry art with Minnesota communities and beyond!

What an inspiring day!

Last Friday, our annual Teaching Artist business meeting brought together COMPAS staff and many of the incredible teaching artists on our roster to connect, share ideas, and grow. From important updates to professional development and plenty of creative energy, this gathering reminded us why this community is so powerful.

COMPAS TAs are some of the most renowned professional artists and educators in Minnesota, and we are so grateful for the creativity and inspiration they bring to communities across the state!

Reach out, and let’s talk about how a COMPAS Teaching Artist can help unleash creativity in your school, library, park, museum, senior living community, business and ANYWHERE else! (Visit compas.org)

Thank you, Minnesota African American Heritage Museum and Gallery, for hosting my teaching artist residency (can you believe it was a whole year?!). It has been an extraordinary experience filled with challenges as the group achieved new skills, created beautiful jewelry, developed community bonds, and filled the hall with laughter and song. Let's do it again soon!
Big Hugs and Warm Smiles,
Amy Wilderson
