I am in Belgium this week visiting my grandmother who we affectionately call Bonnema. ❤️
She lives on the North Sea in a coastal town called Knokke. It is a charming area that I have visited since I was a child.
Visiting Belgium brings back so many memories from my childhood but it also gives me the opportunity to discover new shops, restaurants and Belgian made art.

This painting and so many in the impressionist collection reminds me of my visits to Paris. I told my husband after our trip to Paris last summer that spending more time in Paris in the future was a goal of mine.

This painting spoke to me immediately partly because of the colors used but mostly because I can picture, in my head, Paris in 1888 and this woman walking down the street in her fashionable clothes.

I love the title the most - An Elegant Woman in the Élysée Montmartre painted by Louis Anquetin in 1888.
I have never heard of this painter before but I love this little gem.

Art and style inspiration yesterday. So many beautiful works of art. The impressionist collection is impressive and the special exhibit of Japanese wood block prints was beautiful.
