Making cabochon jewelry is a process. But in the end, the results are worth it. Glass cabs, short for cabochon, come in a variety of sizes. I started with 12 mm for earrings. However, it was hard to shrink my artwork that much and details got lost. So I went up to the 14 mm size. That's also why I love the necklaces, because they are large enough for easy viewing.

Last year, I learned a few things along the way. Making cabochons took some trial and error, no matter how many videos I watched. I found that when I tried someone else's method, it just wasn't working. I sealed my artwork to prevent smearing. But the sealant caused the paper to peel off the glass. That was so annoying! After that lesson, I decided to skip the sealant.

I will be re-learning the process this year, since I can't remember what I did last year. But this year, I would like to try photo paper to see if that helps the artwork look better. What do you think?

This past year, Facebook made changes that have made it even harder to manage my shop on their platform. I thought my shop was removed. Luckily, it's still there for now, but it doesn't give the customer experience that I would like it to. That's mainly because it's incredibly challenging to build and maintain it. Menus have moved around. I don't see how to edit and maintain it like before. It's like the options disappeared and I cannot find them.

If you're unfamiliar with my website, it has always been linked to the products. But maintaining the two was always challenging. By shifting my focus to the website, it is receiving the love that it deserves. What does this mean for my Facebook shop, you might ask? It means that I am phasing out maintaining a Facebook shop (not entirely by choice). Facebook will remain connected to my Instagram account, where I post updates. Hopefully I can run my shop entirely from my own website one day.
