Sorry I haven't been on here for a while. Something came up today that I wanted to share about shipping. I wanted to ship a package using UPS. I dropped the package off at one of the UPS Access Point locations. This location happened to be an Auto Parts Store. I have left my packages there in the past with no issues. Last week I took a large package into the store, and it was evident that the place was busy. They lady behind the register saw that I was struggling with the box and asked if it was a drop off. I told her yes, and she told me just to leave it behind the register. I asked for a receipt, and she said they were quite busy, but not to worry. "Just leave it there", and she would get around to it after the store was less busy. That was my mistake. I did not get a receipt. A week later, I was checking the tracking for the package, and I noticed that the package was not tracking at all. It just said I created a label and that was it. I drove to the store with my receipt. I explained what had happened a week before. A sales person working there looked, but found nothing. I was not going to leave the store until I got answers. I asked another sales person the same question. Thankfully, she brought the manager to the front of the store. On his computer, it shows the package was there on the 19 of February. I described the size, color, and markings of the box. He found it right away. Luckily, UPS was there and was able to pick up the package and scan it in front of me. If you ever take your package anywhere, please make sure you get a receipt. Check the tracking on any package to make sure UPS picked it up. If they had lost the package, I had not way of claiming anything because the tracking only showed that I created a label and not dropped it off. Learn from my mistake. Thanks for looking!

Scam Alert: A while back I wrote about receiving some random bag items I did not order. Some of you said you received some seeds or sunglasses. I received my package from a company BFE Corporation in NJ. I just spoke top PayPal and they told me what is happening, which is what happened to me. I ordered some beach chairs from a Facebook advertising post. The post had some awesome beach/camping chairs at a ridiculously low price. (I know, too good to be true.I should have known better.) Anyhow, a few weeks after I placed my order, I received these random bags. I saved the envelope and the bags, just in case. Sure enough, I didn't get the chairs. When I put in a claim with Paypal, I get a message from the seller with a tracking number. He says that the package of chairs were delivered and that it was out of their hands, and I needed to go to the post office to find out what happened to my chairs. I looked at the envelope I had received and underneath the USPS tracking number was a the same tracking number given to me by the seller. So, what is happening is that you order something from a Facebook or Instagram post, you receive a random gift, and you never get the item you ordered. They will say they sent it, give you a true tracking number for a random item, and you lose out on your money because it will take you a long time to figure out you were scammed big time. My advise is not to order anything through Facebook or Instagram. If you do, use PayPal to pay for it. Mark down on your calendar when to expect it by. If you don't get it by that date, file a claim with PayPal saying you never received the item. If you get a random item through the mail, save the box or envelope. If the seller sends you a tracking number, compare it with the tracking of the random item. PayPal says so many people are getting scammed out of money. These items are sent from China and then forwarded to a USA address. This is the 3rd time this has happened with me buying from a Facebook ad. I have always gotten my money back from Paypal. I will never buy anything from a Facebook or Instagram site again unless I know the person personally. Watch out and don't get scammed. If the price seems too good to be true, then it's probably is a scam.

Summer is always slow for sales. Don’t be discouraged. What I do is create a sale. I go to My eBay, under Selling Tools go to Markdown Manager. Click on Create a Promotion. Sale Event + Markdown. Choose your discount. I usually choose from 10 - 20%. Click on Select Items. You can pick the items you want to discount. Choose the dates the sale may run. Don’t forget to submit. Some people are attracted to sales, so you will have more people interested in your items.

I just had this happen to me.....A buyer bought an iPhone from me on eBay. From the start, the transaction was complicated. Each time the transaction took a bad turn, I called eBay so they could document it. Finally, the buyer pays. I sent the cellphone to him, insured, of course. He receives it and about 8 days later, he says it's defective and wants a refund. I ask him to send the cellphone back. I asked him for a tracking number. No response. eBay sends me an email to refund the money to the buyer. I call eBay and tell them he has not responded with the tracking number and I have not received the cellphone. I still, to this day, have not received either. I call eBay and PayPal and told them NOT to refund the buyer automatically because I have not received the item. I still have the money in my PayPal account, but no cellphone. So far, I win.

I posted an iPhone on eBay. I received a message asking if I would sell it for less. I gave a counter price and the buyer accepted it. I get a message from an entirely different buyer telling me they bought the iPhone and want it shipped to another address saying it was a gift for her sick mother. I called eBay and they told me the second message was a fraud. The first buyer then emailed me saying she needed the IMEI off the cellphone. She had not paid for the cellphone so I said no. She insisted so I called eBay and asked for their advise. eBay told me not to give her the IMEI of the cellphone until she paid and it was delivered. The IMEI is on the back of the iPhone box. We went back and forth all day. Then she wanted proof that it had no contract, that it did not have an iCloud account, and swear that it had no scratches or dents. I sent proof. I made sure none of the proof had any account numbers showing. So far no money. Looks like this scammer gave up. I reported her to eBay so they are looking closely at this transaction. Please be careful when selling expensive items. There are scammers everywhere, even on reputable websites. If a transaction turns complicated, it's probably a scammer.
