Bold Beauties, Walmart got me with these leopard-print barrel jeans! 😂

These are part of Walmart’s new fall collection, and I knew as soon as I saw them that I had to try them. You know I love a bold statement piece, and these jeans definitely understood the assignment.

And before you say, “Erika, where would I wear leopard barrel jeans?” — the better question is, where WOULDN’T I? 😂 A statement piece can do all the work when you keep the rest of the look simple.

DAY 14/30 | ELEVATE YOUR BASICS ✨

Bold Beauties, here’s your reminder that looking put together doesn’t require an expensive wardrobe!

Today’s look started with two simple pieces: wide-leg cuff jeans from SHEIN and a knit cardigan that I found on clearance at TJ Maxx while shopping in Vegas with the bestie. I think I paid around $11–$13 for the cardigan! 🙌🏾

But THIS is where the fun begins…

✨ Statement jewelry
✨ A touch of metallic gold
✨ The right handbag
✨ A great pair of shoes
✨ Fragrance
✨ And, of course, the sunnies 😎

Those little details took a basic jeans-and-cardigan combination and gave it an entirely different personality.

I also shared a quick styling trick for anyone who loves a deeper neckline but occasionally wants a little more coverage. Adding a beautiful scarf gives you coverage while becoming another part of the outfit.

And today’s fragrance layering combination? Paradise Nectar by Phlur + Metal Flower by The Harmonist. So good together!

The takeaway: You may not need a more expensive wardrobe. You may just need to style what you already own differently.

Sometimes you don’t need a new outfit…you just need the RIGHT third piece. 👏🏾

I started with one of the simplest combinations in our closets—a white top + jeans—and styled the exact same outfit FOUR different ways.

The secret is what I call the power of the third piece. ✨

👜 Add a bold statement bag → instant personality
🧥 Add a sleeveless blazer → polished and pulled together
👠 Add statement shoes → simple with a little attitude
❤️ Add a statement necklace → basic becomes BOLD

Same top. Same jeans. Four completely different vibes.

And THAT is why I always say style isn’t necessarily about having more clothes. Sometimes it’s about learning how to use the pieces you already own differently.

Your “third piece” is that finishing element that takes you from simply DRESSED → STYLED.

At some point after 40, somebody decided there was a list of things women were suddenly “too old” to do.

Too old to wear that.
Too old to start that.
Too old to try that.
Too old to reinvent ourselves.

But…who made these rules? 👀

Have you ever walked into a room you WORKED to get into… and still wondered if you really belonged there? ☕️

That’s what we’re talking about in today’s Coffee & Conversations.

Imposter syndrome has a funny way of showing up—even after the accomplishments, the promotions, the experience, the business wins, and all the evidence that says, “Yes, you ARE qualified.”

And as Black women, sometimes walking into rooms where very few people look like us can make that internal question even louder.

But here’s something I’ve had to remind myself:

Being uncomfortable in the room doesn’t mean you don’t belong in the room.

Sometimes it simply means you’re growing. ❤️

✨ Day 13 of 30 | Outfit of the Day – Las Vegas Edition

One of my favorite style tricks is mixing affordable fashion with timeless investment pieces.

Today’s look starts with a gorgeous green knit top and navy ruffle shorts from Walmart, then I elevated it with my Gucci Horsebit crossbody, Gucci rhinestone sneakers, David Yurman bracelets, and a few classic everyday jewelry pieces.

And because every Vegas trip is better with your bestie, the video ends with Nikki showing off her Walmart outfit styled with her Gucci denim bag and sneakers.

Style isn’t about the price tag—it’s about putting the pieces together in a way that reflects your personality.
