I never thought I would actually see my mother go, I really thought she was invincible. You couldn’t even tell the severity of her illness by looking at her. But her heart never changed. My mother never complained or whined, despite her crippling pains and suffering. Rather, she always wore a smile. That is what made and still makes her so special in my eyes. My mom was a trooper. Of course I some
times feel upset, but for the most part I am happy. My mom is always with me. She always is sending me signs when I need them most. If I’m having a bad day, I will look out the window and sure enough, I spot a cardinal. Or, I will look up at the clock at see that the time is 11:11. My mom kept her promise to me. At her bedside in the hospice one day, she whispered to me, “Don’t you worry. I will always be looking out for you”. My mom never fails to make her presence felt. I know that this foundation is exactly what my mom would want. As a matter of fact, I am positive that she is beaming down on me as I type these very words. Please assist me in making my mom proud.
