🌿 ANNOUNCEMENT: Sugar Bloom Scrubs Community Barter Program
Because everyone deserves a clean and healthy home — without shame, without barriers, and without judgment.
I’m excited, nervous, and incredibly proud to finally share something that has been on my heart for a long time.
As many of you know, Sugar Bloom Scrubs isn’t just a cleaning business to me. It’s something I started during one of the hardest seasons of my life. I launched this business in the middle of the pandemic while homeschooling two boys and caring for my newborn daughter through major medical challenges. Those years taught me resilience, humility, and what it truly means to hold a household together when everything feels like it’s falling apart.
During that time, I learned something important:
A clean home is not a luxury.
It is stability.
It is mental health.
It is dignity.
It is relief.
A clean home makes a bigger difference in your mental health than most people realize — especially during hard times.
And there are moments in life when you need help but simply cannot afford it. I’ve lived those moments. I remember the fear, the exhaustion, and the pressure of trying to care for a sick child, manage bills, and keep a home livable all at once.
That experience became the heart behind this business.
And today, I want to offer something that truly reflects that mission.
🌟 The Sugar Bloom Scrubs Community Barter Program
Once a month, I will offer 1–2 cleaning appointments where families can trade goods or services instead of paying cash.
Not charity.
Not pity.
Not a discount.
Just an honest exchange of value — the same way our grandparents and small-town communities have done for generations.
💛 Who This Program Is For
Single parents
Elderly clients
Families with limited income
Households going through hardship
People who simply need a hand, not a lecture
Because I’ve been there too — and I will never forget what it feels like.
💱 How the Barter Program Works
✔ Send me a message explaining:
• What type of cleaning you need
• What you’d like to trade
• Photos of the area (if needed)
✔ If we both agree the trade is fair, I’ll schedule you for that month’s barter slot.
✔ Trades must be equal in value and something my household or business can actually use.
Examples of acceptable trades:
• Grocery items
• Cleaning supplies
• Gas cards
• Yardwork
• Hauling trash
• Handmade goods
• Other useful items or services
This is not a discount program.
This is a community support program — designed to stay fair, safe, and sustainable.
🛑 A Few Important Boundaries (to keep things healthy)
• Only 1–2 barter appointments per month
• Trades must be approved beforehand
• No hazardous cleanup (mold, hoarding, pests, etc.)
• No IOUs or future promises
• I reserve the right to decline trades that don’t fit my business or family needs
These boundaries ensure I can continue offering this program long-term without burning out or being overwhelmed.
🌸 Why I’m Doing This
Because I’ve been the mom who needed help.
Because I’ve been the family counting every dollar.
Because I’ve lived through the days where life gets heavy and the house becomes overwhelming.
And because I know the shame people feel when they need help but can’t afford it — and the relief a clean home can bring when you’re struggling to stay afloat.
I want Sugar Bloom Scrubs to be a business that genuinely serves the community — not just those who can pay, but also those who need kindness, support, and a clean space to breathe again.
This isn’t about handouts.
It’s about humanity.
It’s about dignity.
It’s about rural community values — neighbors helping neighbors.
If even one family sleeps better, breathes easier, or feels lighter because of this program, then it is worth it.
💛 If you’d like to be considered for next month’s barter slot, send me a message.
I can’t take everyone, but I can promise kindness, fairness, and respect for everyone involved.
Thank you for supporting Sugar Bloom Scrubs.
Thank you for supporting small, woman-owned businesses.
And thank you for being part of a community that still believes in helping one another.
