The Story of “Pine Barrens Diamonds ™”
By Paul Evans Pedersen, Jr., Glass Artist

From deep within the beautiful World Famous Pine Barrens of Southern New Jersey comes this exquisite ha

nd-made jewelry featuring the “Pine Barrens Diamonds ™”.

“Pine Barrens Diamonds ™” are cut, shaped, re-fired and expertly polished pieces of early 19th Century Glass that was abandoned from several of the World-famous Glass Works, including the Crowleytown Works, Isabella Works, The Tansboro Works, The Coffin and Hay Works, and The Bulltown Works, that were once the mainstay and usually the only way of life for S. At secret “Pine Barrens Diamond ™ fields & mines throughout South Jersey(all on privately owned lands), I carefully dig, probe, excavate and unearth pieces of glass that for a variety of reasons were unused and discarded. At my Gloucester County, South Jersey “Pine Barrens Diamond ™” shop, I select the finest pieces, rough cut them to their optimum size, then shape, grind, re-fire and polish the glass to a beautiful finish. In the FUSED DICHROIC JEWELRY, I add dust from the diamonds to the glass as it's being fired. We are the only shop in the world that uses this process, and a patent is hopefully pending! The result is a beautiful piece of Historically Significant, custom-made jewelry. The “Pine Barrens Diamond ™” is a unique one of a kind artistic piece, nearly 200 years old, hand crafted and hand-tooled. A historical Artifact from days of long long ago and a true Heirloom from South Jersey, it takes over 700 hours, from mine to finished jewelry, to create EACH PIECE! Paul Evans Pedersen, Jr.
