Our big ass Maine C**n is mostly an inside cat, but if the sun goes down and she’s still outside, it’s go time apparently! Lots of feral crazy barn cats on the East Side. Volume up!

Part of the process to get a pilots license, is a 150 mile or more cross country solo flight, where on that flight you have to stop and take off at at least 3 different airports. I checked that box this morning. It was a fun 200 miles! Left Bend at 8:45am, flew to John Day, then to Madras, Prineville, then back in my truck by noon. Would have been less time if there were not surprise 35mph headwinds for the last 80 miles. If I flew lower the winds were less, so I diverted through the valley from John Day to Madras, but stayed low and on the downwind side of the valley, to hopefully give me a little slope-lift speed. Got turbulent at times, but it’s actually kinda fun bouncing around. Thanks to , and for getting me dialed in to make this happen. Not easy, but that’s what makes it such a draw for me!

First day grass landing in the ! So fun getting it really slow before touchdown. Needed more right Rudder when throttling up, but still learning.

Solo today! My first solo landing wasn’t a greaser, but it looks better on video than it felt in the plane haha! My training started near the beginning of August. Put in a few hours a week flight time since then. has been awesome, and my main instructor has been so fun to fly with. Getting to this point was a lot to learn. On to getting my PPL! and I have a pretty cool plane being built right now, and I’ll update more on that as the build progresses.

Any time the sprinklers are on, we’re injecting air into the pond water! Tried a fountain and just did not really work. Within days this bubbler was really making the pond visibly healthier.

If you know what a Piston Port Kawasaki JetSki is, the engines are not known to be loved. Pretty slow, hard to start, and finicky electronics. I mean, they were designed I the 80’s, and not really changed in technology besides a Reed Valve motor early 90’s, then discontinued in 1994. All that said, I made some cool parts to make the Piston Port motors rip enough I don’t even have a desire for a Reed motor. In fact, I kinda like the purist engine being built to absolutely rip. This Piston Port shown is fast. Really fast and powerful for what it is. Good crankshaft so the bottom end can handle anything, our Intake Manifold and Zeeltronic Fitment Kit, and this is one reliable ski. Had to pull the expansion chamber to weld a small crack, then she’s ready to rip another season!

Flew the big bird yesterday. Weather starting to be real nice!
