Nighttime Bowfishing Adventures LLC. offers a guide service to take people of all ages and experience levels out to harvest rough fish from the lakes and rivers of WI. Paul has 20+ years of bowfishing experience and has been a licensed guide since 2005. The primary quarry is carp. However, species such as buffalo, drum (sheephead), gar, bowfin (dogfish), suckers, shad, and Asian carp including Big
head, Silver, and Grass carp, are legal to harvest. European, or common carp are an invasive species that cause many issues in our waterways. They increase turbidity (murkiness) in our waters and destroy the spawning areas in the shallows for many of our game fish such as panfish and largemouth bass. Asian carp are starting to be found in WI waterways, and are extremely destructive and pose a huge threat. Harvested rough fish are composted and used back for fertilizer. Bowfishing at night is done with the aid of lights. Our crafts utilize LED or HPS (high pressure sodium) fixtures to allow you to see clearly into the water. In addition to seeing rough fish, you will have the opportunity to see the many species that inhabit our fertile lakes and rivers. Only rough fish are legal to take with bow or crossbow in our state. Rest assured that your guide(s) will help you correctly identify and select the proper fish for harvesting. You will have the option to select from two vessels. One is a 20' custom SeaArk which also doubles as a tournament boat. This craft is powered by 3 means of propulsion - 225hp outboard, 101lb. thrust 36V tolling motor, and an 18 hp - 42" pusher fan. The 10 HPS lights are powered by generator and can run all night. The second option is a custom built 24' Quad -toon pontoon specifically designed and built from the pontoons up to accommodate our fellow outdoor enthusiasts who are in wheelchairs. Although the pontoon will accommodate groups of 6 to 8. This pontoon's lights are all LED and will run off battery power - allowing for a nearly noise free, enjoyable experience. This craft will be available for the 2015 season - as final customizations are being completed. Pictures will be available very soon. Bowfishing in south central WI can be done from ice out - until the ice reforms. Typically from March/ April to October/ November.
