This Agate Friday’s feature is of the legendary North American agate the Fairburn. Fairburn agates come from South Dakota and are the less known variety of agates that form in sedimentary rock. Highly valued and sought after by collectors. Our Johnson street location has three for sale at the moment!

Happy September! There are 2 birthstones for this month. The primary birthstone is sapphire and the alternate birthstone is lapis lazuli. While blue sapphire is traditional, sapphires come in all colors of the rainbow (except for red, that would be a ruby!). This makes sapphire a popular choice for jewelry. Lapis lazuli, famous for its rich blue and gold pyrite flecks, is a historically popular stone as well. It has been used as a pigment for over 9,000 years!

Check out our jewelry curation for September at either location!

We decided to dress up with an ocean vibe today, so…..
Happy Staff Pick Sunday “Ocean” Edition.

Welcome back to Josh who picked this Agatized Horn Coral from Utah that just came in. It’s about 300 million years old.

Triona loves these Ocean Jasper cabochons and even bought 2.

Dylan discovered this Mimocystites specimen. The species is technically Rhombiferan “Cystoid”.

Rae thought she might be able to hear the ocean in this pearlized Pseudonotata Complanata shell.
