This is my most viewed bowl on Etsy. Any idea why it hasn’t sold yet?

This small bowl is made from a piece of spalted big leaf maple burl.
Big leaf maple trees are common on the Pacific coast of the US and are named "Big Leaf" as their leaves can be upwards of 12" across - much larger than most other variety of maple trees.
The black spalting lines in the grain run in and out of the burl figure which adds a chatoyance in the light.

This shallow dish is made from a gorgeous piece of curly bubinga wood.
Bubinga is an African hard wood that is extremely hard and has a natural deep red color.
Bubinga trees can grow over 100ft tall and 5-6ft in diameter making its timber a great resource for anything from smaller bowls and dishes to larger single-slab dining tables.
This particular piece of bubinga has beautiful curly grain that adds iridescence and depth to the dish depending on how the light hits it.

The body of the Christmas ornament is made of black walnut with an ash wood veneer accent line. It’s finished with a durable hand applied high-gloss varnish that really makes the grain pop.

Today I turned a set of cup centers for an upcoming project requiring wooden sphere turning.

I’ll need to practice before I turn the finished piece because I’ve never done sphere turning before.
