A little unexpected gift from Mom. ❤️
After my mom passed away, we were going through her things when I came across a pair of gloves just like the ones she’d given me years ago. They had pink trim, and if you know me, you know I love anything pink! So, of course, I kept them.
This past weekend, we were heading to Glendale, Kentucky, for the Crossing Festival. It was supposed to be chilly, so I grabbed those gloves out of my closet.
As I was taking the tags off and pulling out the cardboard inserts, out fell a $100 bill!
I couldn’t believe it. I have absolutely no idea why Mom had tucked that money inside those gloves.
But here’s what made it so special.
Mom always loved going to Glendale. In her last few years, she wasn’t able to go because all the walking had become too tiring for her.
So there we were, heading to one of her favorite places, and somehow I’d just found this little surprise she’d left behind.
So I used that $100 to buy everyone’s breakfast that morning at one of her favorite places, Cracker Barrel. ❤️
I don’t know how long that money had been hiding in those gloves, or why she put it there.
But I’d like to think Mom found a way to come along with us to Glendale one more time.
And that made an already special day mean just a little bit more. ❤️
