This extra-flat 38mm model measures just 5.5 mm thick. Its case, defined by timeless simplicity, is crafted in 18k yellow gold and fitted with a sapphire crystal caseback. True to Breguet’s signature design, it features a finely fluted case band and a crown engraved with the iconic Breguet initial.

The hand-engraved dial, crafted on a rose engine, enhances the watch’s understated elegance. Details include a Roman numeral hour chapter, blued open-tipped hands, an individual number and Breguet’s discreet secret signatures positioned at 11 and 12 o’clock, as well as between 12 and 1 o’clock.

The IWC Da Vinci collection was launched in 1969 with a hexagonal Beta 21 quartz model (3501) and it was not until 1985, with the launch of the perpetual calendar chrono 3750 that we saw the round case with hinge lugs appear. This automatic time only IWC Da Vinci SL, reference 3528, with its stainless steel mesh bracelet was launched in 1998 and was discontinued in 2003.

Lemania may not be a household name among watchmakers today, but the company is undeniably synonymous with some of the finest movements ever produced, particularly when it comes to chronographs. Some of the most celebrated chronograph calibers in watchmaking history trace their lineage back to the Lemania 2310, including Omega’s legendary caliber 321, famously used in the Speedmaster that went to the Moon, and Patek Philippe’s caliber CH27-70, which served as the foundation for the brand’s iconic perpetual calendar chronograph, reference 3970.

The 1960s marked an important period in the history of Girard-Perregaux, as the manufacture combined traditional Swiss watchmaking with an increasing focus on precision and technical innovation.

In 1966, Girard-Perregaux took things a step further with the introduction of its Chronometer HF, a pioneering high-frequency movement operating at 36,000 vibrations per hour (5 Hz). This exceptionally fast beat was developed with the goal of improving precision and chronometric stability, placing Girard-Perregaux at the forefront of high-frequency mechanical watchmaking.

This period makes 1960s Girard-Perregaux watches particularly compelling today.
