Please fix the problems for "Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas".

Please fix the problems for "Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas". Now, "Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas" is such a great classic Christmas TV Special. And that's exactly what happened! And that's how BAD the cropping was! WHY?!

This is mostly important, because all of us purists and huge fans would be able to see "Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas" in its REAL original format as it was REALLY originally intended! While it first aired back then in 1977, it only aired on the premium cable channel, "HBO". And then, 3 years later, in 1980, it then aired for the first time ever on over-the-air TV on the Broadcast TV network, "

ABC", for those that didn't afford either "HBO" or cable at the time. Now, for the 40th Anniversary Edition DVD and Digital Download re-releases of the TV Special that came out back then in 2017. Now, first off, I only rented the Digital Download format on my "iTunes" account, I didn't actually buy it, I only, once again, just rented it, so that, I could see what this current print version of the TV Special was like. Now, even though, I am happy that the TV Special on this current print version is uncut and unedited, and that, they restored Kermit the Frog's opening and ending scenes, along with the laundry scene, back into the TV Special, but unfortunately, about what I just saw on the 2017 re-release, it's about the 5 BIGGEST complaints that I have about it, that I'm not too happy with!

1st problem:

As of what's happening on TV today, and sometimes, but not all the time, on Home Media releases, it's with either any older TV Show, any older TV Special, or any older Made-For-TV Movie, that's in its WRONG Aspect Ratio! The TV Special was cropped from its original 4x3 Aspect Ratio to fit in HD screen! And it just doesn't look right, it looks like DRECK! And the reason why I'm saying that, is because you are missing more information, that you used to see before, with the cropping of the TV Special! Now, like, for an example here; during the last of the roll of the ending credits, you used to see a whole flock of the flying birds before, but right now, you are only seeing 1/2 to 3/4 of it! And that, even back then, during the 1970's and 1980's, there were NO such things as 16x9 Widescreen HDTV Sets!

2nd problem:

"The Jim Henson Company" has decided to use heavy use of Digital-Noise-Reduction (DNR) on the TV Special, just so that, they would make it look like HD! And that, the TV Special was originally shot in Standard-Definition (SD)! And the DNR just doesn't look right, either, it basically just looks plain TERRIBLE!

3rd problem:

"The Jim Henson Company" has also decided to manipulate the Frame-Rate from the TV Special's original 60 Frames-Per-Second (FPS) to 30 FPS, just so that, they would make it look more filmy! And that, the TV Special was originally shot on Videotape! And the Frame-Rate just doesn't look right, either, it's just basically ALL MESSED UP! And that, even some of the shots just really don't look that good at all!

4th problem:

Now, even though, Kermit the Frog's opening and ending scenes are, once again, restored back into the TV Special, but unfortunately, Kermit the Frog's 3 bits of off-screen narration have again been excluded! WHAT THE HECK?! They could've just restored them back into the TV Special, too! JEEZ!

5th and final problem:

Now, also, even though, the TV Special on this current print version is, once again, uncut and unedited, but, also, unfortunately, the fade to black after the opening credits has been hastily replaced with a cross-fade to the next scene! They could've just left that WHOLE thing ALONE! JEEZ! Now, in the likely event that you don't believe me, I have proof. Here are some images (in their original 4x3 Aspect Ratio), along with the video clip containing those same images (in the awful cropped 16x9 Widescreen version). And now, here are the following images on the following links below:

So, for the 2017 re-released DVD and Digital Download formats of the 40th Anniversary Edition of the TV Special "Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas", I hate to say this, but, I advise you to stay away from it! And please keep on spreading messages to "The Jim Henson Company" by keeping on telling them that we want the TV Special to be restored back into its original 4x3 Aspect Ratio, and into its original 60 FPS, and non-DNR'd. And also, please keep on telling them that we want Kermit the Frog's 3 bits of off-screen narration, and the fade to black after the opening credits, restored back into the TV Special. Because they ought to be ashamed of themselves for what they did to this all-time favorite classic Christmas TV Special! And if you agree and are with me, please sign the petition to the website. Thank you.

Hello there:

I know it's been a year since my last update, but now I'm here to give you more updates about "Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas" and others.

Now, just last year, in 2018, "Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas" just debuted on the Blu-ray High-Definition (HD) Videodisc format. Now, first off, there are some people, including me in my own opinion, who are not really that interested in upgrading to Blu-ray for many different reasons. Now, again, for those who are into Blu-ray, then this message is for them.

On the Blu-ray version of the TV Special, it has 2 different viewing options; the original 4x3 Aspect Ratio format, as it was originally intended; and another option is the 16x9 Aspect Ratio format, which crops the image in order to fill the HD screens, and is not the best way to watch it. And despite that, both the video and audio qualities are not really that great, because, once again, there's still the heavy use of Digital-Noise-Reduction (DNR) on the TV Special, just so that, they would make it look like HD! And that, the TV Special was originally shot in Standard-Definition (SD)! And also, because, another thing, once again, they still manipulated the Frame-Rate from the TV Special's original 60 Frames-Per-Second (FPS) to 30 FPS, just so that, they would make it look more filmy! And that, the TV Special was originally shot on Videotape! And that, the Frame-Rate is still really that terrible! I would just skip getting this Blu-ray release, because of about everything that I just mentioned before.

Here's the link, so that, you can see for yourselves:

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Emmet-Otters-Jug-Band-Christmas-Blu-ray/219292/

Now, again, for those of you who are not into Blu-ray, then there's nothing for you to worry about.

And now, for some other updates! For those who subscribe to "Amazon Prime", and also, if they have an "Amazon Fire Kindle", "Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas" is now for streaming on there! There, it is being presented in its correct original 4x3 Aspect Ratio! But unfortunately, for both the video and audio qualities, they're not really that great on there, either, because of what I mentioned before. But, what are you going to do? Now, in case you're wondering, this version does not have either the rental or purchase options, unlike from the other "Amazon" Digital Download version, just so that, they would avoid the cropped 16x9 version, and would not get it either mixed in or up.

Here's the link to the "Amazon Prime" version that has the TV Special in its correct original 4x3 Aspect Ratio:

https://www.amazon.com/Emmet-Otters-Jug-Band-Christmas-Henson/dp/B07WNKFC1H/

And in comparison, here's the link to the other "Amazon" Digital Download version of the same TV Special that has the rental and purchase options, but unfortunately, again, in a cropped 16x9 version that I, once again, advise you to avoid:

And now, for another very special update! Also, right now, on "Amazon Prime", is another classic "Jim Henson" TV Special, "The Christmas Toy", that originally aired back then in 1986 on "ABC"! That's right! It is now for streaming on there, too! I just watched it on there, on my "Amazon Fire Kindle", and I really enjoyed it! And I will point out, that, it is in High-Definition (HD), even though, it was originally shot in Standard-Definition (SD), and on Videotape, too! But I will tell you, that, for both the video and audio qualities, to me, they were kind of still that good! And at least, they did not use heavy use of Digital-Noise-Reduction (DNR) on it! Now, as for the Frame-Rate, I'm not sure! But when "The Jim Henson Company" puts it out on a new DVD re-release in the future, let's hope that they don't down-convert the Frame-Rate, either, because, otherwise, I'll sue them for doing something like that! Now, for another thing, too, it is being presented in its correct original 4x3 Aspect Ratio instead of being in a badly cropped 16x9 version! Thank God! And now, for just 1 more thing, too, this version also does have the rental and purchase options, too!

Now, as for the DVD and regular Digital Download releases of "Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas", unfortunately, they're not planning to fix the Aspect Ratio for them, which is a darn shame! And I thank you for giving my "Facebook" page a "like". And, just in case, if you didn't yet sign my petition, please do so, linked down below:

About the "Fathom Events" screening version of "Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas", there's 1 good thing about it, and there's 1 bad thing about it, too. The 1 good thing about it is that the TV Special has been restored back into its original 4x3 Aspect Ratio, so thank God for that. But I do have to tell you 1 other thing that is, unfortunately, very bad about it, too. The 1 bad thing about it is that, unfortunately, the TV Special has been down-converted from its original Videotape format to be more "film" like, just like on the new recently re-released DVD and Digital Download formats, and it's just not right, it's just ridiculous! And as of just today, it has been happening to a few to some older TV Shows that were originally shot on Videotape, that they just want to down-convert them to be more "film" like, and it's just completely trash, and I hate it! Now, just in case, if you don't believe me, here's the link down below, so that, you can see and read that comment for yourselves:

So, to anyone out there that is reading this particular update, for the "Fathom Events" screening version of "Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas", I hate to say this, but, I advise you to stay away from it!
