Midwest Fest is this Sunday, and I’m bringing the earrings! (No candles)

For the event, every pair will be buy one, get one. I’ll have a huge selection of wood studs and drop earrings, including the Halloween collection and plenty of other designs.

One of those moments where scent and place completely connected.

Took a quick trip to Washington over the weekend and we stopped along the White River at Mt. Rainier, and the air smelled exactly like Golden Hour. Crisp fall air, sun warming the trees, and just the faintest trace of smoke drifting through the air. This time it happened to be from wildfires in the area, but it reminded me of that familiar smell of fire pits and woodsmoke that settles into the air when fall arrives. The only thing that’s missing is the changing of colors.

I created Golden Hour around that feeling. The changing season, warm sunlight, cool air, and a little smoke somewhere in the distance. A scent that reminds me just as much of autumn in the Midwest as it does being surrounded by the mountains and forests.

I stood there thinking, this is it. This is what I was trying to capture when I created that candle.

There is something pretty incredible about finding a scent you created out in the wild. (I had this same excitement with the Sea Salt + Driftwood candle as well).
