I work at NASA’s Neutral Buoyancy Lab. Our unit conducts training in a 20-man altitude chamber. One day we discovered that a tempered glass window on the chamber had shattered. While my co-workers were aghast, I saw the beauty in it. I took some of the pieces home and went to work, using a Dremel tool and a lot of imagination to create the pieces you see here today. Desert Glass is similar to sea

glass in that it has been tumbled around and smoothed by sand. Instead of being found on ocean shores, these were found in the desert sands of Nevada. These bits of glass are likely over 100 years old. My collection includes bits of medicine bottles, plates, liquor bottles, and glass bowls.
