[The Unpaid Debts] explores the weight of people pleasing and the cost of sacrificing one’s mental well-being for the sake of others. It serves as a visual of reclaiming self.

The figure in the painting echoes Kendrick Lamar’s line, “I’ma make it look sexy,” referring the act of radical self-prioritization not as a burden, but as a confident, empowering transformation.

This piece will be showcased salon show at ¡Fiesta En La Calle! this July 11.

The show is still up until April 18th. You can go see the gallery during gallery hours weekdays from 1pm to 5pm. There are some special days where the artists will show you around. There are some incredible works in there! I shared one of my favorites by an artist named ! So dope!

I met a lot of lovely people this weekend. Crazy how life brings you back to your origins. Literally was in the area I grew up in (Roxbury - Orchard Park area for those that don't know!). I was just talking about how I would go get Beef patties with cheese for a $1.25 at the corner store down the street. Full circle moment. My heart is full. This is just the beginning...you'll see more of me Boston 😝🩵

A reflection of healing and mending old parts of ourselves that show up in all forms of relationships. It's about how we want to become better humans to those around us. It starts with us, breaking the cycle, and truly meaning it.

I never got to share these on my main page but wanted to share a few pieces that I loved during this project with TDI. 🩵

Fun fact about Cardenas Market- I lived just around the corner when I was a kid. We lived right on the corner of Arlington and Hampshire for 8 years. I have a lot of memories of not having enough money for snacks and the owner letting it slide, or always getting Tripoli bread from there for the family (mayo on Tripoli bread with Bustelo coffee is bomb af, and it's a must try). Figuring out the right balance of crunch and softness ratio is an art skill. Bodegas are so essential.

I lived in Lawrence pretty much all my life (moved here when I was 12 from Boston) and I am grateful to have gotten to explore all parts of it in my teens. I walked everywhere with friends or alone at 4 AM to clear my head. I was a bit reckless and impulsive. I was an angry kid, and art was always my outlet. I love my hometown very much, and I'm seeing a lot of changes happening. Now living in Lowell, every time I go into the city for work, it can be unrecognizable.
