We are all created for a purpose. The meaning behind the name!

The PURPOSE behind the name...

After we decided we were going to start this little boutique, I knew we needed a name. We talked through many different names but nothing sounded right...until it hit me in the shower, of all places! 😆

Seven years ago this April, Derek went to work at his full time job working in the electrical engineering field. I received a call that Monday morning saying that he was on his way home from work..I wondered why. He said he and many others were laid off and that was his last day of work after being there for almost three years. We both were upset, angry, sad and scared; we felt every emotion possible! How were we going to afford our mortgage and finically provide for our little family, after all, Derek was the "breadwinner."

At the time, Sophia, our now eight year old, was fifteen months old. Derek picked Sophia up from the babysitters and she never went back. That started his time as a stay-at-home-dad! He would tell you that being a SAHD is the most rewarding and fun job around, yet the most challenging. He never thought being a SAHD would have been a part of his journey.

Although the next seven years would be some of the best for Derek, he always felt that something was missing. He didn't necessary miss his coworkers or even the paycheck, but rather, he felt that he was missing his PURPOSE in life. Was he meant to be a SAHD and not use his degree? Lots of questions would run through his head. But ultimately, he was trying to figure out what God had in store for him; what was his purpose?

Okay...so cute earrings don't necessarily give him purpose (they do for me though! 😜) but coming up with a creative design, making something out of "nothing" and being able to see someone else happy with what HE created, does GIVE HIM PURPOSE!

So, when you purchase from our little boutique, you are purchasing so much more than a pair of earrings. You are contributing to a PURPOSE so much greater than any amount of money could ever provide to us. THANK YOU!

You never know where the future will lead, especially for us at DWP. A connection made some time ago has afforded us to be headed to the Super Bowl this year!…Well kind of;)
