I went ahead and decided to make an official website and domain name for my Plague Doctor's Apothecary. I've used my free website for the past year but free websites have a lot of limitations so I figured it would be best to take that next step with an official website if I want to take it to the next level. Now I can sell my own personal digital 3D models on it, tell the story of Marek and the Apothecary, and link my social media accounts properly.

I kind of look at it as the "main hub" of my Apothecary brand. I'm still in the process of switching everything over from my free website to it but I'm slowly doing so while I finish up some large client projects that working on right now. I also have to make some adjustments to it since the mobile version isn't fully working just yet lol.

The Story......So Far.My name is Marek.  I died on May 28th, 1656 in Naples, Italy during a devastating plague.  I was brought back the next day, though it felt like a lifetime. This plague was different than past sicknesses. Because even though the victim would be lying in bed, slowly dying whi...

This is a piece that I created for my Plague Doctor's Apothecary using a lot of ZModeler on Zbrush for iPad. I'll probably refine this character some more in the future.

A blog I wrote on why I created the Plague Doctor’s Apothecary in the first place and a bit of a behind the scenes for it.

A bit of a behind the scenes.

I'm calling this piece done for now lol. I might eventually alter a few things on it before I 3D print it in the upcoming months(just the bas reliefs not the picture frames lol), not quite sure yet. I made the one on the left a negative bas relief because I like the way the shadows play off of it, kind of fitting for a ghost lol

I started adding the lore for my story on my Plague Doctor's Apothecary website. Still so much to add to it lol, it's a work in progress.

I shared this work in progress piece a few months ago but didn't say much about the story behind it(which is also a work in progress lol). The world of the Plague Doctor's Apothecary revolves around ghosts/spirits that have become "infected" by a sickness. The infected spirits are called "the Afflicted". Sometimes that spirit is still attached to it's body(as in the person is in a comatose type state) and sometimes it's the spirit of a person that has already died. Each affliction takes on a different appearance according to the spirit that is infected. Despite appearances, the affliction doesn't always turn the spirit into something malicious(just like how not all hauntings are meant to be scary).

Now in this case, the affliction turned the spirit of a Victorian era woman into a spider that mimics a woman in a dress to lure in men that specifically have ill intentions. It prefers to come out at night, so from a distance in a place like an alley or a poorly lit room, the prey only see the silhouette of woman in a dress. I'm debating whether I should make it so that the spider can also hum or mimic a woman's voice(or at least what sounds like a woman's voice). The "dress" is simply a curtain-like web that the spider conceals it's legs and head in, and the upper "woman" part is the spider's abdomen. The spinnerets are located in the "woman's" mouth.

I've always loved insects, reptiles, birds, etc. that have learned to mimic other creatures, and of course the Mimic movie series lol, so I figured it would be fun to combine that with the supernatural.

I figured I'd see what this gargoyle themed mini bottle label actually looked like when 3D printed and put on a bottle. Not too bad. This one is a previous version of the render that I'd shared earlier(couldn't find the version that had the hands unfortunately). There are some changes I'd like to make for a future version, after all this one is just a wip digital sculpt anyways, but it looks pretty much like I'd figured it would. I also went ahead and printed out one of my cork stoppers as well, it's a rose with a tongue sticking out of it lol.

I'm thinking about doing a series of them, all with different themes and styles. Not quite sure yet.

So technically this is a failed design, as in it failed because of the way that I 3d modeled it lol. I designed the legs of the spider way too thin for this scale. You can still see some of the supports around those areas because if I remove them they'll pull of the legs that did print since they are less than 1 mm thick lol. That being said though, I absolutely love this piece. It's an old church and graveyard that serves as the nest for a giant spider, inside of a bottle :). (Also keep in mind that I haven't really cleaned up the pieces so there's still some little plastic bits and parts that need sanding, etc. lol)

I definitely have some things to tweak on it but the overall concept worked really well. Scenes and creatures in bottles where the top of the bottle can come off and the bottom of the bottle serves as the base of the figure are generally how I'd like a lot of my Plague Doctor's Apothecary miniatures to be like.
