We have a new app available, called Native Time! Indigenous history is too often ignored, and this app aims to help fix that. It has a “This Day in Indigenous History” feature that has thousands of historical entries and changes each day. It’s also easy to save the entries to read for later and to share them with your friends.

We also included Indigenous calendars that you can pin to your Home Tab. Our hope is that this helps Indigenous folks to feel closer to their traditional timekeeping systems, instead of always having to use the Western calendar.

Get it on the Apple App Store here: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/native-time/id1578407056

And on the Google Play Store here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ftp.nativeTime

This May 5th on Awareness Day, we’d like to bring attention to the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) that contains provisions granting Tribal Nations the ability to prosecute non-Native offenders who commit violent acts against Native women on Native lands. Urge your senators to to protect Native women, girls, and Two Spirit peoples.
TW and more details below:
In a conversation surrounding the rampant violence against Native women in Indian Country today, it is important to establish that sexual assault is not traditional within Native communities. Many Tribes did not tolerate sexual violence as it conflicted with the reverence held for Native women within many Nations (Deer et al. 6).

Colonization marked the erosion of safety for Native women on this continent. The legacy of violence against Native women by non-Native men may have begun with colonization but persists at high rates even today. One in three Native women will experience sexual violence within their lifetime and 96% of these Native sexual assault victims experience this violence at the hands of non-Natives (Allison 225).

Tribal Nations and courts have been stripped of their sovereign right to prosecute non-Native offenders and these cases are often dismissed by federal and state courts. Thus, a loophole exists in our justice system that allows non-Native offenders to commit violent acts against Native women on Native lands without fear of consequences (Rosay 41).

The tribal provisions in the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) attempt to close this loophole by granting a small number of compliant tribal courts the ability to prosecute non-Native offenders who abuse Native women. Call and urge your senators to pass the Violence Against Women Act to extend tribes their inherent sovereign right to protect their citizens!

This is a little different from what we usually post, but we have a Kickstarter project that is currently live! It is for the production of a bottle opener that our co-founder Chase designed for a school project.

It's made of solid brass and has a completely custom design. We put it up on Kickstarter to see how popular it might be, and the Kickstarter team actually liked it so much, they selected it as a "Project We Love”!

If you want to learn more or buy one for yourself, you can use this link to go to the Kickstarter page:

Ever wondered how our fees compare to Etsy’s? We keep our fees as low as possible so that as much money as possible goes back to the artists on our site.

Etsy, on the other hand, seems to have a fee for everything! And over time, those fees really start to add up.

Our fees help us maintain our website as a space for Native artists. Plus, a portion of our proceeds are donated to stop violence against Native women and combat COVID-19 in Indian Country.

If you’re ready to make the switch from Etsy, just apply on our website (link in our bio) or message us here!

Buy Indigenous goods directly from artists. Over 70 Native American and First Nations Artisans, working in all styles!
