Have I ever filmed an unboxing? Nope.

Do you ever think to yourself, I could’ve started preparing much earlier?

That’s literally me every time- at least I’ve got things batched over a month out, right? Come see me and lots of other cool folks at Makers of the West in Miles City October 9th-11th. There’s even classes in silversmithing, bead work, cinch making, wool saddle pads, leather carving and much more!

Proper preparation prevents poor performance…. Or something like that.

At the end of the day, I’m just a girl 💁🏼‍♀️

I don’t fancy myself as a bench jeweler, like you’d find in a regular jewelry store, that frequently does repairs. I don’t like to take any on that I don’t feel comfortable completing. A friend asked if I could give one a shot so I agreed.

A previous artist had attempted to repair part of the cuff without taking the turquoise out of the setting. Harder stones like diamonds can take the heat and usually don’t have to be removed. Softer stones like turquoise can’t take the heat and will burn if unprotected. Luckily I had some tools that removed a good amount of the fire scar.

Thank you Tara for allowing me to give this stone a new life! If it wasn’t yours, I might keep this one for myself.
