As I get older, as this practice of sitting with stones and crafting adornment infuses cellularly year after year.. there are things that matter more and more and things that matter less and less.

Things that matter more: ritual, magic-making, intention, connecting with the things we can’t always name but are mystically holding us all together

Things that matter less: everything else, basically.

It is a successful day if I’ve been fully present - for at least a few moments - with creativity and with my children, and if I’ve been on my phone barely at all. Which makes this whole sustaining an online business thing problematic sometimes.

SO🙊MUCH🙈NEW🙉STUFF I am so sorry and you’re so welcome 😅 things got a little unhinged in swamp witch studios this past week…. 🙋🏻‍♀️

***Featured in many of these pictures is Vali Myers, an artist, dancer, muse, and environmental warrior (before that was even a thing 💪🏼). She was a true bohemian force 📿 mingling with Salvador Dali and Jean Paul Sartre.. (later infamously tattooing a lightning ⚡️ bolt on Patti Smith’s knee). In the late 50’s, she moved into an abandoned 18th century homestead in the mountains of Positano, Italy, where she adopted a menagerie of animals from dozens of dogs, tortoises and ponies to her favourite, Foxy, an orphaned vixen that she raised as her own, letting her curl around her neck and sleep alongside her.

Look her up. It’s a deep, delicious dive into a true artist and individual and something we need so much more of in this moment on earth ✨***

Things have been quiet, hands have been busy. This winter wrecked me in some ways.. but I think I needed to work through a few things. 🌀 Sometimes we just need to sit in wreckage to figure out where to start again…

New creations bring fresh joy. Tibetan Quartz (long dangles and teeny sweetest studs), Herkimer Diamonds, Mookaite Jasper, freshwater pearls. (Most things picture here are indeed a v a i l a b l e 🫶🏽)

There’s something indescribable in holding a crystal that was born in the Himalayan mountains. Or a treasure that was formed by a creature in the seas.

It’s the scariest thing to do, offering it up.. but it’s for a man who left too soon. It’s hard having so much love left, once the person is gone, and not knowing where to put it. So I put it here. And I fold it into my kids’ hair. I kiss it onto their eyelids. I whisper it into the breeze. I cry it onto my steering while.

I think some things never fully heal. You just learn to go through the days a little bit broken.
