Two new original watercolors available on my website. These paintings reflect my continued exploration of everyday beauty through simplified forms, minimal interiors, and floral arrangements.

Watercolor's translucent qualities felt like a natural companion to the summer season, capturing a sense of lightness and the energy that comes from bringing in fresh flowers on a warm day.

I've spent the last five weeks teaching a summer painting course, and each day we began class with a "little" - a tiny 4" x 4" painting.

Working small has a way of quieting the inner critic. Each painting became a chance to explore a new composition, revisit a familiar subject, or simply enjoy the act of painting without expectation. These paintings were quick enough to feel playful, but often sparked ideas I'd end up thinking about long after class was over. Without the pressure of making a finished piece, I found myself experimenting more and following ideas I might have otherwise overlooked.

Here are a few of my favorites.
