Central NH lakes region delivered this weekend. 🍄

Spotted a healthy flush of Boletus chippewaensis tucked into the hemlock duff! Filled the basket and got a dehydrator load going, low and slow at 140°F, putting up a good supply for the months ahead.

Also crossed paths with an especially gorgeous Butyriboletus brunneus — that red-blushed stem and reticulation is unmistakable once you've seen it.

🍄 First gold of summer. Season is OPEN🍄

Cinnabar pins pushing through the moss, golden chanterelles scattered through the leaf litter, and a basket that smells like apricots. This is what late June in New Hampshire is all about.
The chanterelle season has officially begun in the Granite State!
