Mahalo nui! 💗 Thank you very much to everyone who donated and shared the post for Maui cookies! We raised a total of $2,650! $1,325 each to both the Hawaii Community Foundation’s Maui Strong Fund and The Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement’s Kāko‘o Maui fund.
Scroll through the photos to see the donation receipts - I made my last name “Langan and Sugar Cookie Co. Supporters” because none of this would be possible without YOU! Every single dollar donated for cookies went to these two amazing organizations, and we all helped get closer to their $1.5mil match goal (94% now!)
Several people contacted me about the small business form that HCF needed if you’re donating a portion of your sales or proceeds. I did not go this route (using my small biz) and have donated ALL the money received straight to the organizations.
I just wanted to remind everyone that this cookie fundraiser does not benefit me in any way. I do not use any cookie fundraisers as personal tax write offs (I wouldn’t benefit from them), and I am donating my time, ingredients, and packaging (business wise this is a “loss”.) I am also not profiting by possibly gaining future business as I will be temporarily shutting down my cookie business this September but with no projected return date.
Mahalo if you read this far, and thank you to everyone who has supported me in every way! I try appreciate every single one of you. This fundraiser has shown me that so many people have very generous hearts. Please continue to always give, give, give whether it’s your time, money, experience, skills of talent. I swear that the more our ‘ohana gives, the more the universe rewards us. Love you all! 💗
