Living in Hawai`i, the most isolated place in the world with unique biodiversity and high rates of endemism, has helped shape her perspectives. The Hawaiian islands can be seen as a series of kipukas in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, a kipuka

is an oasis of life where old lava flows around a forest to create a smaller land island, while kai means ocean, so in this way the Hawaiian Islands are a series of kipukas. Most designs are stylized native, endemic and indigenous Hawaiian species. All earrings are laser cut on the Big Island of Hawai'i with sustainably harvested Koa wood and sterling silver findings. Acacia koa is an endemic tree species found only in the Hawaiian Islands. The wood is prized for its beautiful glow, curl, and colors.
