For anyone new to my line, Tamron is featuring my Plaza Collection today, a line that has been going strong for 21 years. A little background on how this collection came to be: in 2005, the Plaza Hotel in NYC underwent a huge renovation and I was lucky enough to score the original room numbers and letters that adorned hotel room doors, dating back to the early 1900’s. I bought over 2000 original bronze letters and numbers from the famed hotel from an architectural salvage company, and from there transformed them into wearable pendants and other jewelry. At the time, the iconic carried my work and the line took off. featured the collection and Lulu Frost really began to soar. 🦅💗
A few years later, the original pieces were nearly all sold, so I began to research and learn how to cast the originals in order to replicate the beautiful pieces so I could continue to offer the amazing collection to my clients. I worked at first with a foundry in Brooklyn and we cast the pieces in brass, then plated them in gold. The Plaza Collection has been going strong for nearly 22 years now and I couldn’t be prouder of my baby. People around the work have found meaning and joy in these special charms. I’m so lucky to have found them on that fateful day at a salvage shop in Manhattan, and even luckier that my guiding star, my Grandma Frost, guided me to purchase them all.
I want to say a huge thank you to my dear friend and awesome PR maven who has helped me for years in promoting my work with Lulu Frost. Kerry is an amazing mother herself and I’m so grateful to her. Than you Kerry for this incredible connection to Tamron Hall, I’m forever grateful to you and so thankful for our friendship. 🫶💗🫶💗🫶.
