Day 3 of Michigan Renaissance Festival was an absolute delight. Butterfly Beard made their jingly debut in full garb! Look at that fit, y'all 😍😍 Watching Mike prance around and come to life in this character was so beautiful and made me smile allll day long! They brought everyone so much joy.

I got to embody Whimsy Wallflower, a fae pirate who latched onto Butterfly Beard. They are a mischievous but loveable duo 💅💅

We learned about the "Day of Wrong" which was hilarious and so fun to witness, including our friend Savanna dressed up as her husband in the Arend Smith booth!

More adorable folks prancing through, the best booth neighbors The Shield Wall Shop and Zack Greenshields , and so much laughter.
We already can't wait until next year 🧡🧡

Michigan Renaissance Festival Day 2!!! We met the most lovely creatures today! Look at all of these creative and beautiful friends!

Today's theme for us was Forest Fae/Druid vibes ✨ Tomorrow, Mike will be unveiling the embodiment of a character they've been working on for quite some time! It's one you know and LOVE if you've shopped our booth and you've probably joined their cult if you are a fellow bearded person.

Throwback to our very first year vending at the Michigan Renaissance Festival Michigan Renaissance Festival where I stumbled upon a powerful wizard casting spells upon the jousting arena!

Say Hwhat, Fine Villagers!!

As we approach the aforementioned Viking Invasion at Michigan Renaissance Festival this weekend, I ask you to place thine eyes upon some of our protective adornments!

Some may be used as armor, some for intimidation, some as metaphysical protection from the spirits of those lost in battle, and some, may we say, just look damned regal!

Before you storm the beaches, make sure to travel over to the Guest Merchants village near the backend of the Faire, and adorn yourselves for battle!

(Also, for the pacifists, we see gaze upon ye, and have brought yon Snail Family and Pumpkin Patch. This year's snail family includes precious souls such as Enid, Jimothy, Claudia, Harold, Eunice, Mortimer, and Leaf. They will protect you as you cower in the woods, avoiding battle and therefore, glory.)

As the sun rises from Saturnsday through Mornsday, we shall be ready to outfit the pillagers, villagers, pacifists, and Royalty alike!

August is coming to a close and we're getting ready to welcome in a very exciting September over here at The Rusted Rabbit!
This month is stacked with our favorite events back to back, meaning so much chaos but even more fun!

9/5-9/7 - Michigan Renaissance Festival Michigan Renaissance Festival

-Step into another time and experience the magic of knights, faeries, vikings, royalty, dragons, plague rats, jousting, pretty much everything your nerdy little heart could ask for. The theme for this weekend is Viking Invasion! It's a busy one so be sure to come early and secure your tickets ahead of time!

9/11-9/13 - Wheatland Music Festival Wheatland Music Organization

- This festival was a first for us last year and we fell in love with it! It's one of those places that hooks ya in the very first time you go. We were honored to be welcomed back to vend and can't wait to experience it for another year! Hats off to a festival that doesn't price gouge, celebrates community, and takes care of their vendors (including a beautiful little welcome party/potluck). Grab your day passes or weekend tickets now!

9/19 - Merchants and Makers Artprize Market Merchants and Makers | West MI

- Artprize is coming up QUICK and this time we get the chance to vend! Merchants will line the streets of downtown near Rose Parks Circle while Grand Rapids comes to life with beautiful works of art created by people from all over the world. We can't wait to see what's in store for this magical event this year! This one is free so you won't need tickets to get in 🧡🧡

9/24-9/27 - Anahatas Purpose Anahatas Purpose

-And last but definitely not least - our heart festival - our yearly retreat - our homecoming - Anahatas Purpose. If you've had a conversation with us at any point in time you have definitely heard us talk about this festival to the point where you're wondering if we're in a cult. We probably are. We simp for this fest so hard. Every year we come back refreshed, hearts full, and with a renewed love for humanity. Its witchy summer camp vibes. There's a burlesque show on opening day. It's seriously everything. This is our 5th year attending and we are melting with excitement.

Grand Rapids!! Have you seen the newest beast on the Grand Rapids Culinary Landscape?! WATUSI
came out swinging for us today, and my jaw is still on the floor.

If you know us, we don't usually talk about where we went to eat. It just doesn't really fit what we're doing here, but we were honestly so blown away by the richness and variety of flavors coming out of this kitchen, that we had to say something! This kitchen being in the neighborhood that Mike grew up in, makes it even more special. It was like stepping into a time machine and traveling to a land of immaculate vibes and BOMB A #$ FOOD!! 20 out of 10, can't recommend enough!!

If you are ready to find a new daily restaurant for yourself, look absolutely no further than Watusi in Grand Rapids, near the corner of Leonard and College.

Whims grabbed the Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes, some Fried Green Tomatoes with the crispiest breading we've ever had, the Biscoff Cookie Tres Leches Cake, and Concord Grape Lemonade 🤤 the flavors are mind boggling, grab yours before they sell out for the day!

(I) Mike grabbed the Chicken Wing Platter with Mac and Cheese and Red Beans and Rice, a side of the Rib Tips, and another Concord Grape Lemonade 🤯🫠 Honestly dudes, the best food I've had in a really long time, and I do not miss meals you guys.

Runnnnnn down to Watusi and catch some flavor!! Can't wait to try the rest of the menu 🫡

dondecierra if you haven't been put onto Watusi yet, consider this being put on!! They will absolutely exceed all expectations 💚

I'm so excited we grabbed enough to eat leftovers for dinner, because I am already craving it again 🤤

Return to the River is in the books, and holy heck you guys, how wild was that?! Our fits were iconic (as always), the music was interstellar, and the people were OUT OF THIS WORLD! Thank you to everyone who stopped by, and the many many people who grabbed their first, second, or tenth piece of wearable magic with us 🛸

What's next (nobody asked)?

In two weeks, Labor Day Weekend, September 5-7 (Saturday through Monday), you can find us out at Michigan Renaissance Festival for the Viking Invasion Weekend ⚔️ where we will be storming your beaches and bringing debauchery and mayhem! You will find us back in the guest vendor area, behind the jousting arena, allllll weekend!

In honor of making our return to both of these amazing festivals, we have put together a little slideshow of some of our favorite fits from this year and years past!
