I designed this piece using a bold mix of recycled mesh plastic and shiny African wax print fabric to bridge the gap between tradition and innovation. It’s more than a dress; it’s a statement on the power of upcycled couture and the royal roots we carry with us.

Presenting: Your Emerald Highness. International Model:
This three-piece ensemble from the Royal Immigrants collection debuted this past Saturday at African Fashion Week Omaha. Designed in Minnesota, the look features a structured corset and matching wrap crafted from authentic Ankara fabric.
To elevate the design, I hand-painted glitter embellishments onto the print and incorporated sustainable, recycled plastic mesh to create a modern, architectural silhouette. Completed with a matching wide-brimmed hat, this set is a celebration of heritage, innovation, and handcrafted luxury.

Liberated by Nature
My collection, titled “Royal Immigrants,” serves as a powerful platform to shed light on the illegal and arbitrary detention of lawful immigrants and citizens of color who are exercising their first amendment and freedom within the bounds of the law. Drawing inspiration from the vibrant fabrics and accessories of Africa, the continent renowned for its natural beauty, I incorporate sustainable materials into my designs, echoing the voices of the Afro defendants immigrants.
