Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I help a child or family? A: This program connects familes in need of help, to People that want to help! Q: Where do I find the families that apply? A: I dont find them, they find me through Facebook

Q: How do I screen the applicants? A: I verify each applicants residency, income, id for all in the home i

s verified, if they receive government assistance i verify this! I do everything in my power to make sure that the families posted are in true need! Q: Do I have to buy everything on the child/childrens wish list? A: The answer is no. I know that some of the kids get overzealous with their list, which could become very expensive. I do prefer that the kids wish list are fulfilled but I do not require that you get everything on it!
9/25/24 Edited to add: I will be creatin online wishlist for each approved child this year. Santas will now be able to provide 1 item or all items on thee wishlist. Q: Can you purchase gifts or dinner for the parent/parents? A: That is a judgment call, on a case by case basis. Once you claim a child/family, you are welcome to do for the parents also, if you choose to! This is not asked of or required of you! If a parent ask you for absoltely anything that I have not listed on the wishlist, please notify me immediately! Q: Do I guarantee that each child will be claimed for Christmas? A: No, I do not offer any guarantees for this program! Q: How did I come up with the idea to do this? A: Just before Thanksgiving 2014, I noticed lots of parents posting on several different fb groups about not having a Christmas for their kids because the charities had already stopped taking applicants. So, I threw this page together, just to see if I could get them some help. My initial goal was to get help for 25 kids. I ended up getting 65 kids covered! Q: When are applications due? A: 11/15/2024 @ 5pm! No applicants will be reviewed or considered after that time & date! Q: What is the due date to claim a child/family? A: 12/15/24

Q: What is the due date to deliver gifts to the family? A: 12/20/24

Q: Who delivers the gifts to the families? A: I prefer that the person/family that claims a child/family, delivers to the receiving family directly! If you choose to deliver and are not comfortable going to the recipients home, you can ask them to meet you elsewhere in a public place, within reasonable distance, near their home. If the recipient is not comfortable with having strangers come to their home, they are welcome to ask the donor person/family to meet them in a public place, close to the donors home. If meeting in a public place, I recommend a very busy, popular, well lit location or a police station parking lot! Edited to add......

Parents
I'm going to do things a little differently this year, to make it a little easier on me, you and the santas! When you submit your childs wishlist, Please send links for their wishlist gifts from Amazon, Walmart, etc..... and I will create a wishlist for each child. This will make it easier for some of the santas also, as they can have the gifts shipped directly to you, if they have time constraints or for whatever reason that they can't meet with you personally! Please do not be extravagant on the wish list!) I will NOT post name brands, electronics, jewelry, event tickets, electric ride ons, gift cards, furniture, cash or anything else that I deem extravagant. This list is strictly for clothing and toys! IF THERE IS ANYTHING ON YOUR WISHLIST THAT I CONSIDER EXTRAVAGANT, I WILL NOT POST THAT ITEM/ ITEMS. AND I WILL NOT ADD ANYTHING IN IT'S PLACE. Once you have submitted the wishlist, I WILL NOT add anything OR edit anything on that list, unless I've made a typing mistake (it happens from time to time). Make sure you have the right size, color, style , etc.... correct before sending your list to me! If you attach a broken link, it is not my job to track down the working link, so please leave a blank line in between each link for the gifts! If you ask the Santa for ANYTHING that is not on the approved wishlist, YOU WILL IMMEDIATELY BE REMOVED AND BANNED FROM THE PROGRAM! Santas, if you would rather deliver your gifts directly to the parent, you are most certainly welcome to still do so! When you claim a child, I will message you contact info for the parent/ guardian. This is for you to ask them any questions that you have regarding the wishlist & arrange delivery, If you choose to deliver directly to the family! If you choose to do Amazon, Walmart, etc.... delivery, please let me know when you have finished shopping. I will send you delivery confirmation once I receive it.

🎄Figured I'd go ahead and give yal this info, so you can start working on their wishlist!🎄

🥊DO NOT, FOR ANY REASON, CALL MY PHONE UNLESS I HAVE CONTACTED YOU AND ASKED YOU TO RETURN MY CALL! 🥊

Thanks for all of your help and patience in making this the best year yet for TARRANT County Secret Santa! I'll see yal on October 1st.
