When I think of a lone tree I can only imagine its magnificence thus the name for this brooch. I know it is made partly from a throw away material, but I cut each element out by hand, file the edges smooth, and stitch each piece to the sterling silver trunk. It comes down to a great deal of labor and time. Why you ask? We are surrounded by plastic, and I would like to see a least a bit of it used twice. Using single use plastic in my jewelry is my small part in trying to use plastic twice. By using the plastic twice I am trying to elevate it in the world's eye.
