🩵 So… do you like, breathe?
Filling our women’s wild dolphin retreat next month came with a couple surprising moments. The optional entheogenic ceremony was an immediate “no” for some, which I understand: but after a decade in this work, I’ve seen how misunderstood these spaces can be. When held with care, they often invite a deeper relationship with self: body, emotions, creativity, meaning. The live music we weave in becomes an anchor, something to return to. It’s less about going somewhere else and more about listening to what’s already within you.
And then the real head scratcher… a few people were a “no” when they heard we were going to breathe. 😳
I get it. Breathwork can sound confusing or even a little eye-roll inducing. Like… we already breathe, right?
When I started massage 15 years ago, I felt so awkward reminding people to breathe. But then I noticed… are they? Holding. Shallow. Bracing without realizing it. That changed everything.
For this retreat, breath is practical. In the ocean, the body reacts fast: tight chest, short breath, scanning mind. Totally natural. The breath becomes the bridge back to calm. Slow it down, especially the exhale, and your body receives the signal that you’re safe. Your heart rate settles, your movements soften, and the water becomes something you can be with.
Simple awareness. Gentle guidance. Presence.
This carries into everything: conversations, intimacy, creativity, stress. You notice when you’re holding or rushing… and you have a way back. It creates space. It deepens connection.
I want to honor the women who said yes to this. That kind of trust: in yourself, your body, the unknown, and us as guides, doesn’t go unnoticed. 🤗
We’re so excited to share the water, the breath, and all the in-between moments with you 🐬
