It’s been a few years since I’ve picked up my wire wrapping tools. I had to put away my dream of turning it into a business and underwent a lot of life changes in the past two years - I ended up becoming a health insurance agent and putting most other things on the back burner the past year while I developed that career, and in October of 2024 I got my own apartment for the first time in my life. Independence has been beautiful and exactly what I needed to nurture my spirit, and I’m finally in a place where I have some free time again to enjoy hobbies and do something other than just work. I’ll be moving to Portland in August so I may attend farmers markets next year if I have enough pieces to justify it.
These cabochons are the first I’ve bought in a long time and the beginning of a new creative fresh start. I don’t intent to make wire wrapping a business again - it was too much pressure and ruined something I loved. This time I likely won’t be accepting commissions and primarily focused on selling locally at farmers markets. I’m going to create when I feel like it, because I enjoy it and if anyone falls in love with a piece and wants to buy it they can, but I won’t be so focused on selling that I forget how to enjoy the art again.
I’m not sure yet if I’ll be turning the shop back on my website, but I am open to shipping pieces if anyone sees something and is dying to have it.
In a few months I’ll have a two bedroom apartment all to myself so I’ll finally have a separate room to serve as an office/creative space to get back to making really elaborate wraps, but for now I’m starting with my favorite simple tree of life pendants again. Stay tuned!
