We love going to live shows whether it’s well known bands or the up-and-comers. We have been fortunate to meet several bands and become friends with many wonderful artists. Making jewelry from used guitar strings gives us another connection to the music and artists we love. Because of the various alloys used to make guitar strings, they are extremely difficult to recycle. At least 700 tons of stri

ngs end up in the dump every year. All of our jewelry is made from repurposed, used guitar strings. We work with local music shops and musicians to collect used strings that would have otherwise been thrown away.

Who says you need to be a musician to wear our jewelry?

We met John during one of our trips to LA over ten years ago. We both love Thai food and stopped in at Emporium Thai one night. The food was incredible! When you’re there, John makes you feel like family. Emporium Thai continues to be the place we meet up with our friends when we are in town. We look forward to checking out John’s new location, Emporium Thai Market - Sawtelle next time we’re in LA. We highly recommend you do, too!

Okay, so it seems we did a good job telling everyone at Rocklahoma to wipe down their bracelets at the end of the night to remove any sweat or grime. However, we didn’t do it ourselves… 🤦🏼‍♂️ After four hot and sweaty days of spraying ourselves down with a mister bottle later, the inner guitar strings had developed a little surface rust.

No worries. Bar Keepers Friend to the rescue! We just sprayed our bracelets down with Bar Keepers Friend and used an old toothbrush to clean them up. Good as new!

We recommend using Bar Keepers Friend to clean your Retuned jewelry and list it as part of the care instructions in our FAQ.

So we were sold out of the Rocklahoma 20th Anniversary bracelets by 4pm on Friday… 😳
Luckily we brought the laser and supplies to make 50 more. Most of those were spoken for Friday night. As of this post, we have 12 left. If we happen to sell out of your size, we’re happy to take your order and ship you a Rocklahoma bracelet after we get home next week.
