Each and every piece of jewelry that comes out of the studio is made by goldsmith Janice Fowler. Metal is cut, forged, formed, hammered, soldered and then painstakingly filed, sanded, polished…….finished. For those who value craftsmanship, care, quality – over convenience or cost. Itching to get back into the studio - am taking some time off from the dayjob next week so chances are really good that I'll have some new jewelry to share! Very excited! :)

Straight off the saw, and less than prefect, but I'm happy with my first little horsey. I've never really done much sawing or piercing - looking forward to exploring this more. Will do a little touch up to refine and may add detail, then I'll solder it to a backplate add it's very delicate and would never survive as is.

A little studio update - I apologize that I haven't gotten back to everyone recently, especially in light of the EC Strong rings. I had a little something come up -- I'm sheltering/fostering this little chunk of yumminess. It's been a whirlwind to say the least - I've been fingerprinted and had my home "inspected" and now have this little bundle of joy completely turning my little 'perfectly scheduled' world upside down. So please bear with me as I gain my bearings, try to get some sleep, and get to know this little one. I am not certain when I will be back in the studio but plan on working something out soon to get in there once a week. Thanks for your support and your patience. :)

Old Ellicott City was hit hard by historical rain and subsequently horrible flooding end of July and will be recovering/rebuilding for a long time. I am not near main street but had flooding in my basement and today was the first day back in my studio. My basement won't look the same for a long time but my losses are so minimal compared to people who lost everything. As people banded together in support, the hashtag quickly appeared. With that in mind I've created 3 styles of EC strong rings that will soon be for sale with a portion of the profit donated to those hit hard. The first is a skinny band with a heart and EC strong on top. Please stay tuned for the finished versions and purchasing info.

Really excited about the new pieces I'm working on. Two pieces are part of a new series based on a pendant I did a few years ago. And that pendant was a spin-off of my 'topography' series done before that! (you can read about the Topography pieces here > http://www.doxallo.com/studio/2011/02/new-series/ ) The other piece I am working on this week is a ring as I explore some changes in my soldering set up - you can see the ring in progress below (hand textured sterling with a sweet little garnet) I hope to have these all finished this weekend and take better photos so they can be listed in the ship!
