The Shadow Grain dial is designed to reward a closer look. Rather than relying on a glossy sunburst finish, its finely textured surface creates depth through subtle variations in light. As the watch moves, the dial shifts between charcoal gray and soft silver, giving it a quiet sense of character while preserving the crisp legibility expected of a true tool watch.
The applied trapezoid hour markers continue that philosophy. Their faceted, polished surrounds catch the light, while the broad lume plots maximize visibility without adding visual clutter. The trapezoid shape gives the dial a distinctive identity while naturally guiding the eye toward the hands.
We chose BGW9 lume for both the markers and hands because it complements the watch in every environment. By day, it remains a clean, bright white that preserves the dial’s modern aesthetic. In darkness, it transforms into a cool blue glow, delivering excellent nighttime legibility while maintaining the refined character of the Day Diver. BGW9 is also among the brightest modern luminous compounds, offering performance that is very close to the brightest green formulations while retaining its signature ice-blue hue.
