Grey or Black Quahog Shells! I visited North Carolina this summer and brought back these beauties. I still 💜 my purple but what do you think of this bird?

In case you are curious, When quahogs burrow in coastal sediments, trace amounts of iron in the shell react with low-oxygen (anoxic) or oxygen-poor mud and create iron sulfide, which stains the exterior a dull gray, blue-gray, or dark charcoal color over time.
