Hey everyone! Remember me, your friendly, neighborhood jewelry maker? I expected a few days of feeling crappy, but instead, I lost my entire week.
- Monday: methotrexate injection Monday evening
- Tuesday: My 3 hour Orencia infusion Tuesday morning (my 1pm scheduled appointment got changed to 10am so that was rough waking up early when I'm already on from the mtx the night before)
-Wednesday I had my therapeutic massage. I get one monthly and it's not a "relaxation" process, it's part physical therapy, part deep tissue work and part, "let's try and keep May able to move and flex as her body eats itself from the inside-out." So, in other words, extremely helpful, but also physically challenging. I'm always sore a few days afterward.
By Thursday I was feeling the three back-to-back-to-back days of physical endurance and it was too much and I crashed. I couldn't manage more than walking to my studio, sitting down, staring off into the middle distance and realizing my brain and body were soggy oatmeal.
Friday wasn't much better.
So all this to say, I'm obviously behind on, well, life.
For people who also live with chronic illness, you understand that wall you hit or what a flare feels like. For those who don't; well, just imagine getting the worst flu of your life, or a horrible case of Covid. That "I'm just along for the ride in this body" kind of illness where there's nothing you can do except wait it out and hope you heal sooner rather than later. It's a bit like that. And yet, even more all-encompassing.
So I'm sorry to anyone I owe a reply or if I missed a message. I know it's unfair of me to ask, but if you're waiting on something from me, please poke me so I can be sure to get back to you.
In any event, I have some other things brewing behind the scenes - I've been approved for a fybe seller account which is a new, 100% human run/NO AI/real handcrafted art platform which I will be using moving forward for my one-of-a-kind pieces. (Instead of my random paypal link posts which make it hard to shop and see what's in stock at any given time.) I'll be keeping my etsy for made-to-order items, but this will give me an easier time letting people shop my available stock. So that's coming soon.
Also, I'll be heading to The Maker and Merchant Tampa in the next few days to overhaul my booth for Christmas! ARG, I know, but it's retail and that's how things work but it does mean more gift-ready options and holiday pieces will be arriving soon.
Anyway, thank you as always for your continued support. Running a one-woman business is hard enough, but doing it while chronically ill...well, that's a whole different set of challenges!
