Well here we are! I am still obsessively making things with my hands, and my doggy is still kickinā!
This week at our Mouse Mansion Craft Club we made tiny rag baskets for the little creaturesā toy bins, hats, cribs, laundry, anything the kids dreamed up. I was enjoying making mine so much I didnāt want it to be miniature, so I am slowly spiraling scrap fabric until itās a proper human scale basket.
Toasty made a huge comeback, but, seemed bummed out and still very weak. Then she lost bladder control š¤¦āāļøā¦
But, since she didnt eat for a week, we never returned to kibble when her appetite showed up again. I have been feeding her human food in a dog way, including liver, until a box of Farmers Dog arrived yesterday. These last two days she seems to be controlling her p*e p*e again, and she has wagged her tail and licked our faces šš
I am grateful for my husband who is so willing to nurse her back to health with me. And for my art practice serving as a methodical therapy as we ride the wave of grief and gratitude, overwhelm and relief. And this art practice has lead me to an incredible community of homeschool crafter families, many of whom have supported me as Toasty got sick.
I know a sick dog is small beans compared to many challenges. I am sending my whole heart out to anyone going through it right now ššš
