Steve's home run, Heather's stops at shortstop, April's first out at 3rd base and Jessica on the mound. A few of the great things that happened tonight in spite of the most interesting set of games in Charmers history. (probably in HoCo league history) Win or lose, everyone can agree the Charmers have each others backs and support each other always. Tonight was proof of that.

Thanks to everyone who played this season and everyone who came out and supported the team! Another "great" season in the books!

Some of our Charmers broke personal records in Fridays games. At shortstop, Heather caught 3 pop fly balls, 2 foul balls behind 3rd base and made 6 plays between 1st, 2nd and 3rd base. April stopped 2 grounders at second and went 3 for 5 with an RBI. The outfielders were solid with Mike, Jimmy and Derek making several great catches and Derek throwing a runner out at second from deep center field.

UPDATE: The Charmers will be able to make up the remainder of last night's first game in addition to the game they didn't start. So game 1 is not counted as a loss. More to come on when that will happen.

The rain didn't allow the Charmers to finish their games tonight, but it certainly didn't stop them from putting up a good fight. The umpire called game 1 after 3 innings, leaving the Charmers 3 runs shy of their first victory. Everyone did a good job in the field and at bat, but Tim made the biggest impression getting more than half of the team's outs himself at the mound. Thanks to those of you who came out in the rain to cheer us on, and thanks to Jess for being our 5th girl. We'll be playing our last scheduled set of games next week at 6:30, and will keep you posted on the makeup game from tonight.

On another note, we'd like to congratulate one of our Charmers on her wedding tonight. Wynter, aka Pandora's Secret, we wish you many years of love and happiness. Congrats to you both!

The Charmers dropped both games tonight to Kahuna V***r. Steve did an awesome job at the mound striking out batters, fielding too many grounders to count and making the plays to first base. Wynter and April connected a few times throughout the night with nice plays at second base, and our outfielders hustled through the wet grass, with Jimmy and Mike each making some great catches. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to stop the opponent and once again, Charmers bats were tired. Thanks to Jess, Brett and Kanit for being the extra bodies we needed. You all did a great job! Thanks to all of our supporters for coming out! And especially thanks to Howard and Wanda McDonald, who have been out every week! We appreciate you!

Tonight brought two more losses for the Charmers, even after a great defensive start. Wynter and Heather held down the left side of the infield, catching line drives and pop ups throughout the night and working together to make a great play at 3rd base late in game 1. Jesse and Don each made plays at the mound and a few good catches were made in the outfield by Jimmy and Derek. Despite a double hit by Derek, and base hits by Mike, Kim and Phoebe, the Charmers' bats just weren't awake tonight. That will certainly not be the case next week.
