I like to cook. But not every day.

Scrolling through reels I stumbled upon and was immediately and officially influenced.

Not a ton my my local friends cook so when I shared my excitement and plans to use my new Souper Cubes with my 13 year old daughter, I got a very flat “Ok mom.”

So that’s why I’m sharing here! If you heard my podcast about the hallacas I make you know I don’t mess around when it comes to planning out meals.

Do you use Souper Cubes? I wanna know all the juicy details of how you use them and what you cook!

This New Year’s Eve, we're celebrating from the comfort of home—just like over half of Americans who prefer cozy nights in with loved ones, according to a CivicScience study. And what better way to ring in the new year than with the powerful, trailblazing voice of Keaver Brenai?

Keaver’s voice—natural, engaging, and warm, with a bit of swagger, grit, and cool energy—is bringing a fresh take to this read for New Year’s Rockin’ Eve on ABC. With major clients like Kraft, Nike, and the WNBA, she’s no stranger to amplifying brands with her standout energy.

Research from the University of Sheffield shows that female voices are processed in the brain's auditory regions—the same areas that interpret music—making them sound more approachable and pleasant. This may be why they’re often chosen for virtual assistants like Siri and Alexa, where warmth and friendliness matter.

And Natasha Marchewka Helmer’s voice radiates warmth, comfort, and a cozy familiarity. Her delivery for this The Academy Oscars post-show announcement is spot on, embodying qualities that data shows keep listeners tuned in. No wonder clients like First Horizon Bank, Visit Florida, and Prada trust her for her earthy elegance and timeless relevance.

In 2023, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade drew 28.5 million viewers, showing an increase from previous years and reinforcing its role as a cherished family holiday event. Women historically make up more than half of the audience; an estimated 15 to 16.5 million women tuned in, aligning with family-focused programming trends that typically draw more female viewers.*

That festive warmth is why Soraya Butler’s spirited delivery sounds so bright and merry! Her sunlit voice and radiant style connects with all ages, making adults and children alike eager for the magical parade lineup ahead. And we expect nothing less from this 2023 Reed Award Voice Over Actor of the Year.

This November, we’re partnering with Women in the Arena, founded by Audra Agen to celebrate women using their voices in extraordinary ways. Just as live events often take place in arenas, Women in the Arena highlights women who step into the arena of life, using their voices to inspire and lead.

We’re featuring three female voice actors reading scripts originally voiced by men for LIVE events. Alongside them is Women in the Arena member Samantha, a sommelier and who created her business offering approachable wine experiences—virtual and in-person tastings, wine clubs, and more.

Known for her “go-to, no-snob somm” approach, Samantha will bring her passion for wine to her Building Doors reel, showing how women who host live events—even in the world of wine—use their voices to engage, connect, and influence. In an industry still largely dominated by men, Samantha is proving that women can command the stage and make their voices heard in any setting.

The Dos Equis "The Most Interesting Man in the World" campaign is one of the most iconic and successful beer advertising campaigns in recent history. The Heineken Company Dos Equis campaign not only transformed the brand's image but also became a significant cultural touchpoint, showing how a well-executed, humorous, and memorable character can elevate a product and drive sales for a long period.

For an updated version, we turn to Cherie B. Tay, a talented gender non-conforming voice actor who’s giving this classic commercial a fresh, modern twist. With their bold and charismatic voice, Cherie embodies the spirit of inclusivity while keeping the charm and allure of the original campaign. Their take proves that interesting has no gender, only greatness.

Craft beer is seeing a surge in female drinkers, with 30-31.5% of U.S. craft beer consumers now women. In some areas, like Portland, that number climbs to 52.7%!*

This growing base of female fans is changing the game for breweries like Yuengling, and it’s the perfect time to showcase voices that reflect this shift.

That’s why Diana Jurand’s read in this spot fits perfectly with the Yuengling Beer message. Her voice brings a cozy, real, and slightly sassy tone that’s irresistibly authentic. No surprise that she’s already the go-to voice for brands like Del Monte, Walmart, and YMCA.

Calling All Female Voice Actors!

The 2025 Building Doors campaign is looking for ONE woman per month (for a total of 12) to take over roles traditionally voiced by men.

You’ll have the opportunity to voice:
One :30-second spot, OR
Three :10-second spots (for a total of :30)
For example imagine voicing for a sport, whiskey, and tech in one spot.

📧 How to Apply:
Submit links to your work by emailing me at [email protected]. Submissions are open now through October 25th.

⭐ Selection Criteria:
It’s not just about having a great voice. We’re looking for women who are passionate about the Building Doors mission and committed to advancing the brand. Being selected means you’ll become an advocate for the campaign—representing its values and helping to create opportunities for other women in the industry.

🏆 If selected, your headshot and reel will be featured on our website, where brands and agencies come to learn about Building Doors. There is a $75 annual fee for those chosen, which helps cover the cost of maintaining the site and ensuring your work gets the spotlight it deserves.

The 2025 Door Builders will be selected by our campaign Ambassadors and announced in November.

Here's your chance to help champion change in the VO industry!
