I handcraft jewelry inspired by nature and my travels through the rain forests of South America, the climbing grapevines of Tuscany, and sandy beaches all over the globe. I earned a B.F.A. in Metals and Jewelry Design at East Carolina University in the 1970s. Jewelry design has been a part of my life ever since. I created and refined the Surf & Sand motif over several years of travel near the end
of my professional career that exposed me to the wealth of incredible beauty found in nature. The twining, climbing grapevine tendrils of California and Tuscany and the pristine rain forests and jungles of South America played a part, but nothing influenced me quite like the liminal zone created by the ever-shifting sands and waves of the Outer Banks of North Carolina – my home. What started as a simple retirement project to keep my hands busy has blossomed into a thriving small business. My Surf & Sand Rings are often featured in beach weddings as gifts for the wedding party but have also been exchanged between partners during intimate ceremonies throughout the world. Whether you found my work at a stockist or through Etsy search, I am glad you are here! Please feel free to contact me with any product questions you may have. Item customization and wholesale inquiries are welcome.
