Nitros eyelid tissue was more puffy today than over the weekend leading me to take him back to the vet for more invasive poking around and an xray.
X-ray revealed a bad tooth. So they pulled the tooth. Unfortunately it came out so easily that it's causing other concerns on what caused this to happen to begin with on a dog who's only a year old.
Best case scenario he has a bone infection caused by somehow breaking that tooth.
Worst case scenario it's some sort of cancer/tumor that caused the tooth to decay and become bad and for that there is no cure.

We obviously opted to send out a piece for biopsy.
We will pick him up tomorrow and start hammering the infection with antibiotics.

All we can do for now is hope and pray it's just a nasty bone infection caused by the bad tooth.
Prayers/good vibes for our good boy would be appreciated. ❤️

Our goofy boy is hopefully on the mend now. They don't know what caused it but possibly a piece of grass or maybe he did get stung or bit and it abscessed. They drained as much as they could through the inside of his mouth by lancing it open. Though not much came out. He's on pain meds, antibiotics, and an eye ointment. They did look closely at his eye and said there is no scratches so his eye is fine the eye meds are precautionary.

When the vet called to say he could come home, she said "Nitro is awake but not standing just yet so wait a half hour and he can come home, infact we'd LOVE for him to go home tonight. He's currently singing the song of his people." 🤣
Sure enough in the background I could hear him howling away. My quiet boy was loud as can be high as all get out 😂.

He's home and doing well, ate his dinner and is happy sleeping in his crate. Still swollen but hopefully the meds will help with that.

Vet appointment for Nitro today at 2:30 to figure out what is going on. Thought he got stung by wasp/bee but swelling isn't going down.
Thinking spider bite or grass seed found its way into his eye socket and has migrated causing swelling. Wouldn't think so considering the time of year and the grass length isn't tall where the dogs run and play but who knows.
Hopefully our wonderful vets at Deer Park Vet can figure it out and get him feeling 100% again.

With all the horrible stuff this girl has had to put up with all year, she sure is resilient. She's kicking butt in basketball although we have lost every game by a lot! She's having a blast and has shown she really does enjoy it. She missed out on her game yesterday (due to legal stuff regarding the issues she's had at school with another kid) but we were granted everything we asked for, so hopefully the next year can go on without any issue.

Keep your head up girl! We love you and are so proud of you.

These dogs are not show dogs (we have mostly sport/working dogs) and we all know working lines don't generally do well in AKC shows. They wanted to enter into the Junior and puppy class anyway. So glad they did. Proud of them for trying something new and both dogs did wonderful all things considered. They have never been to an event like this so I was expecting some chaos but dogs handled it like they've done it a hundred times.

Rylee showed Holly in the 4-6 month class.
Kimber showed River in the Junior class.
